Boards for a Cause: How Your Compassion Makes a Difference in the Community

Category Community

In the heart of our community, where compassion meets creativity, a remarkable campaign is bringing hope and joy to the animals of Kloof and Highway SPCA.

A New Kind of Sign
Driving through the neighbourhoods, you may have noticed vibrant, heartwarming paintings of resident SPCA animals. Playful dogs, curious cats, and a majestic peacock now grace our boards, catching the eyes and hearts of passersby. It has been almost a year since the launch of the SPCA collection in our Boards for a Cause campaign, and the impact has been profound. Every cent donated has made a difference.

Art Meets Heart
Shelley Residential is known for its deep-rooted passion for art, homes, and community. The latest fundraising initiative was about partnering with the SPCA to support animals in need. Originally selling in Westville and Pinetown, Shelley Residential expanded to Kloof and Hillcrest, making the Kloof and Highway SPCA the perfect partner for giving back to our community.

How It Works
Each piece of art on the boards is a canvas of hope, inviting the community to join the cause. If you come across one of our boards in the neighbourhood or within the SPCA, the QR code on it is your gateway to make a difference. With a quick scan, you’ll be taken to a page on our website where you can dive into the heartwarming story behind the initiative.

Ready to make a difference? Simply click the buttons that take you to the Yoco payment gateway. Enter your name, reference number, and the amount you’d like to give. You can check out by either filling in your card details or opting for an instant EFT. For EFTs, you can simply select your bank, pop in your account details, and you’re all set.

Don’t forget that although you are donating through the Boards for a Cause initiative, this account belongs entirely to the SPCA, so you can request a Section 18A Tax Certificate by reaching out to the SPCA and they will gladly issue one after you’ve provided a few extra details.

The Power of Your Financial Support
While donating food items is always appreciated, making a financial contribution is far more effective. It provides the flexibility to allocate resources where they are most needed, whether it’s for urgent medical care, critical facility upgrades, or special projects that improve the overall well-being of the animals. This flexibility allows the SPCA to respond swiftly to emergencies, invest in long-term improvements, and ensure that every animal receives the highest standard of care. By contributing financially, you empower the SPCA to optimise their operations, make impactful decisions, and ultimately, bring our furry friends home too.

A Community United
The initiative has caught the attention of the community, raising awareness and funds for the SPCA. The same artwork and QR codes have been placed within the Kloof and Highway SPCA, including the entrance, inviting community members to donate. It’s a great way for the community to come together to protect and care for the animals in need. Scott Allnatt, co-founder and managing director of Shelley Residential, emphasises that giving back is not just a choice, but a responsibility.

Join the Cause
Let’s turn every corner of our community into a sign of hope. Support Boards for a Cause today and make a difference. Help ensure that every animal in the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s care gets the love and support they deserve. Even if you can’t donate right now, you can still share the love. Why not share this article or the website link? Supporting the initiative aids in the ongoing efforts of adoption and community education about responsible pet ownership.

Together, we can make a significant impact. Let’s unite through art, real estate, and a worthy cause to support animals in need. Visit our website to learn more about the story behind Boards for a Cause.
